Here in Spain we have an absurd timezone: CET (the same hour of Germany). In summer, it's even more absurd (CEST); in the long days of summer, at 22h it's full daylight (two fucking hours before midnight). From time to time, there are conversations about abandoning daylight saving time. What is the time people prefer? CEST.

Conclusion: people will adapt to whatever timezone they like, as absurd as it may sound.
