how do you feel about gift giving/getting?

I refuse to give any gifts on obligatory dates. I'm an anti-consummerist, minimalist, and live on very low income, so I consider "I must spend money on whatever it is" awful (I've also convinced most of my beloved ones into not buying me unnecessary things).

But, if I find something I consider a beloved one would like (and inside the currency range I can spend), I use to give it as a gift, no matter the date or time of the year.
