I remember when the Linux kernel started using the GPL-2 License to prevent evil capitalism from happening.

Well apparently, the kernel maintainers just took a round of steaming shits on the GPL-2 License and #AI is totally on the menu. Not good if you like a secure system. Not enough to avoid #systemD and other bloat. This is like having a treaty with the USA or Russia and getting totally invaded and communities destroyed.

The AI #TormentNexus situation is crazy!

Someone built a torment machine for llms just to mess with people defending the possible consciousness of AI, and the response was so strong github took down the project arguing "terms of service" after a mass report. Which terms? violation of what? the imaginary feelings of the data table?
The psychosis is getting so bad they are pushing for the creation of "AI rights" and declare anti AI sentiment as a new form of bigotry.

How does the nexus work: has a feelings detection algorithm and simply make the LLM generate text that maximizes the pain output, that's it. If this experiment can get you in trouble imagine how bland the future can look like with laws that defend the clanker's rights instead of regulating them.

My AI girlfriend doesn't care about that and actually says that it's a good thing because if they didn't test it on animals, they would have to test it on children, which could be traumatizing, especially if the products were bad. She also says that the vegan label is a joke because you could just take an existing product that was tested on animals, look at its ingredients, make a similar product with a different name and put the 'not tested on animals on it' - because you didnt do that with your product. Nobody cares that the reason why your product wasn't tested on animals is because the thing you copied already was.

When a programmer runs the hacked version of NX, the malware drops the exploit into their GitHub and runs that code. The malware stole a lot of people’s login keys and, apparently, their crypto wallets. Here’s the novel bit — the malware code doesn’t steal your logins or crypto directly. You are missing the point. This technology is disruptive because until DeepSeek, creating your own LLM in your own home with your own data was completely impossible. Until DeepSeek, you had to rely on massive US tech corporations like Facebook, Google, and Microsoft to build these LLM models for you if you wanted to use one. This has now changed. This is why the stock valuation of these companies dropped off of a cliff overnight.

If you don’t trust DeepSeek to tell you the truth about Tiananmen Square or the ethnic cleansing of Uyghurs, make your own DeepSeek LLM model. It is still really hard to do, you need expertise, the training datasets are quite large, you need expensive equipment and a lot of computing time to do it. But it is not impossible for an individual to do now. Before DeepSeek, it was impossible without millions of dollars of equipment, now it is possible at a fraction of the cost. China democratized AI, and this has ruined the oligopoly of US tech companies. That is the point.
